Site Design Inspiration

I’m not going to lie, it was sooo hard for me to start this project. I put it off for months. Maybe even a year. I came up with every excuse known to man as to why I couldn’t start it (I didn’t have a logo, I didn’t have cool photos for content, the product photography wasn’t good enough, I didn’t know how to build out a website, I didn’t know how I wanted to portray my brand, I couldn’t focus long enough to sit down and do it, etc. etc. etc.). It seemed like the most daunting thing in the entire world. BUT when I finally DID decide to sit down and make a little mood board about it, it was surprisingly so much easier than I thought it was going to be. I just started saving anything and everything that caught my eye on Pinterest without worrying about if it fit into a certain aesthetic or not, and when I looked back through, I was totally able to pick out common themes and color palettes. Really took me back toTumblr days and the simplicity of having everything you loved all in one place, like a little window into your mind (wish I thought to look through my old one too! I know it’s still out there somewhere. It was so good.).

The only things I DID know that I wanted for the site were for it to 1. not be boring and 2. be pretty simple (ie. not have too many sections or pages, not be pushy). I moreso knew what I DIDN’T want it to look like (which kind of helps, but like, not actually, if you know what I mean. You’ve still gotta be able to start somewhere). I think things will always be shifting around, because that’s just the way life is.

Here is a bit of the board I made and some things that are inspiring me right now <3
